HISTORY
TMP was founded before 1936 in Lambrugo, a locality that neighbours with Como and part of an area claiming one of Europe's longest surviving textile traditions.
Initial manufacturing operations were directed at silk cloths, products which at once earned TMP distinction through the elevated standards of their workmanship.
During 50es TMP saw a significant advance in the scale of operations driven by a strategy change in favour of enhancing fabric quality through textile finishing processes. Under this momentum TMP swap textile production to synthetic fibers and set the standard in the area of specialist fabrics, specially processed or otherwise, for use in widely differing sectors - sportswear, leather goods, footwear, and military.
Over the last few decades TMP, while sustaining its primary commitment to product creativity and innovation, has reinforced its competitive position on international markets. Lately, much work has gone into an extensive rationalisation of production and logistics aimed at better adapting them to the now bigger scale of operations and at delivering a higher standard of service to customers.
Steps taken in this direction include the opening of a new and up-to-date production plant for coating and bonding since 1970, a new fabric storage facility as part of the same operation, and a substantial re-organisation in the firm's traditional core activity weaving.
Following this period of major renewal, ending with the modernisation of its head offices and certification awards in respect of ISO 9001, TMP stands well-prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
